Our Leadership Team

A Pass Educational Group employs a qualified team of individuals devoted to making a difference in education. Our leadership team consists of subject matter experts, instructional designers, course writers, technologists and copy editors, all working together to create top-tier educational content.


Sarah Bierman
Chief Instructional Officer

Sarah Bierman came to A Pass Educational Group after working abroad for Time to Know, an innovative company developing school curriculum on an interactive computer platform. She has taught middle and high school mathematics at independent schools in Morton Grove, Illinois and Norwood, Massachusetts. As mathematics department chairperson in both schools, she conducted professional development and oversaw curriculum choices and implementation; she continues to present professional development workshops in her field.

Sarah holds a B.A. from Columbia University and an M.A. in Mathematics Education from the Teachers College of Columbia University.

Marcy Brown
Senior Manager of Instructional Design

Marcy Brown spent almost fifteen years as an information specialist working with adult learners in universities, corporations, and healthcare institutions before realizing that she needed broader knowledge of instructional design and technology. In 2006 she embarked on a second and Master's degree and career path in instructional design. Having been both an online graduate student and an online instructor gave Marcy unique insight into the design of both classroom and distance education.

Marcy earned an MLS from the University of Maryland College Park, and an M.A. in Educational Technology from San Diego State University. She holds an appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Management and Technology at the University of Maryland University College.

Jessica Duff
Project Manager & Copy Editor

Jessica Duff has always had a passion for learning, having dedicated her life to producing top-quality educational resources. Prior to joining A Pass, Jessica worked for a premier global transportation and logistics provider within its Corporate Communications department as the sole copy writer and editor. She also has experience as a university-level instructor, where she educated students on writing and editing for various media outlets.

Jessica earned her M.A. in Communications in 2008 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of West Florida in 2005.

Betsy Jagosz
Director of Administration

Betsy Jagosz began her career with A Pass Educational Group in 2011 as a content writer before taking on her current role as the director of administration. As director, she manages corporate organization issues and human resource operations as well as handling the accounting side of the organization.

Betsy has degrees in English Literature and Composition from Oakland University and teaches English as an adjunct instructor at Oakland Community College. She currently lives in the Metro Detroit area with her three sons.

Sam LaMonica
Project Manager & Copy Editor

Sam LaMonica started out as a content writer before moving up to the position of project manager at A Pass Educational Group. He began his educational career teaching AP US History at Western International High School in Detroit, MI. From there, he developed an interest in online education as a mentor at the Dearborn Heights Virtual Academy. He also wrote reviews on educational technology as a writer for "Tech and Learning" magazine. He now serves many roles at A Pass, including project management, training, content development, and copy editing.

Sam earned his M.A. in Educational Studies and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Kaitlin Nadal
Project Manager & Copy Editor

Kaitlin Nadal is a project manager and copy editor with a background in publishing. Before joining A Pass Educational Group, she worked in varying capacities as a manuscript editor, proofreader, ghostwriter, and dissertation/thesis editor. As the editorial assistant at the Point Loma Press, she produced five volumes of the university research journal and coordinated the development of manuscripts from design and layout to printing. As an intern with the Harvey Klinger Literary Agency, she fielded queries and recommended potential authors for representation.

Kaitlin attended Point Loma Nazarene University and graduated first in her class with a major in Literature and a minor in Writing.
